The Riyadh Esports Nations Cup is now postponed by a year. The Esports Nations Cup (ENC) is moving its edition in the Saudi capital to November 2027. The inaugural tournament was originally planned for November 2026.
The Esports Foundation said the decision follows discussions with key partners and comes amid ongoing regional tensions. With teams, players, game publishers and fans expected to travel from around the world, the organisation said giving the tournament more time would help create the experience it has been planning on a global scale.
For esports fans in Riyadh, the extra wait means the city’s first ENC will now arrive in 2027 rather than this year. The Foundation said the postponement does not change its plans for the competition or its work with the national esports communities that are being developed ahead of the event.
The tournament has already attracted considerable international interest, with more than 100 countries and territories across every continent signing on as official partners. Once it arrives in Riyadh, the ENC is expected to bring together leading players representing their nations across a range of popular game titles.
For now, the countdown simply gets a little longer, but the prospect of a major international esports tournament coming to Riyadh in 2027 remains firmly on the calendar.
