Sports Boulevard Riyadh is continuing to take shape, with another major development now confirmed for the ambitious project. A new luxury five-star hotel is set to open within the destination, adding a hospitality element to one of the capital’s most talked-about urban developments.
The Sports Boulevard Real Estate Development and Investment Company has signed an agreement with Rikaz Properties to develop the hotel within Urban Wadi, in Riyadh’s Hittin district.
Set across approximately 13,500 square metres, the hotel will be part of Urban Wadi, one of the key areas within Sports Boulevard Riyadh. The district stretches from Suwaid bin Harthah Street to Ar Rub Al Khali Street and is being designed as a place where sport, leisure, nature and community spaces come together.
The new hotel is expected to become an integrated destination in its own right, combining hospitality with access to the wider sports and entertainment experiences planned across Urban Wadi.
Its design will also follow the Sports Boulevard Code, an urban framework influenced by Salmani architecture. The approach draws on Riyadh’s cultural and architectural identity while bringing it into a more contemporary setting.
Beyond giving visitors another reason to spend time in the area, the hotel forms part of the wider transformation taking place across Riyadh. The development is expected to encourage further private sector investment while supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Quality of Life programme.
Once Sports Boulevard is itself complete, it will stretch more than 135 kilometres. It will contain a network of sporting arenas, entertainment facilities, cultural attractions and destinations that combine the best of urban living and sustainable elements.
The project aims to encourage healthier lifestyles and better access to green space without compromising a fulfilling urban lifestyle.
Sports Boulevard opened its first phase in February last year. Its five destinations include Wadi Hanifah, the Promenade, the Arts District, the internal loop of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, and the initial phase of Sands Sports Park. There are also 85 kilometres of finished pathways and tracks.
