A New Digital Platform is Making Planning a Visit to the Prophet’s Mosque Easier

A new digital platform has been launched in Saudi Arabia to help visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque plan their journeys in advance. Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has introduced digital services to help pilgrims navigate the religious site better.

The platform is accessible through the authority’s website and offers information and services before and during visits. Features include interactive map of the Prophet’s Mosque, a live crowd monitoring service for the route to offer salutations, and live updates on prayer area occupancy.

There is also a visitor services portal, the Manarat Al Haramain platform, a guide for worshippers, and a children’s hospitality centre. These help improve the overall experience for pilgrims by helping them avoid crowds and reducing the time for a visit.

The interactive map offers updated information on all amenities and service locations, allowing easier movement around the mosque.

The crowd monitoring service provides updates on congestion levels before visitors head towards the Rawdah and greeting area. Going further, the prayer occupancy service determines the best time and place for prayers.

The new platform supports the Kingdom’s digital transformation strategy by improving the quality of digital services. Those planning visits to the Prophet’s Mosque can access these services on the website at https://alharamain.gov.sa/public/?site=en.
