A new sale season in Riyadh is kickstarting this weekend, on Saturday, 1st August. It will run for three whole months until Saturday, 31st October. The initiative has been launched by the Saudi Ministry of Commerce to stimulate the retail market, givign sales a boost and allowing shoppers across the country to enjoy discounts.
It doesn’t matter if shoppers are strolling through malls in Riyadh or browsing for products online. They can benefit from this mega sale season regardless. They key is knowing where to look.
The three-month shopping season covers everything from fashion apparel and electronics to home appliances, stationery, and school supplies. Prices will be slashed by a significant margin.
The Ministry of Commerce has directed all participating stores and e-commerce platforms to clearly display the original price of a product alongside the discounted price and the exact discount percentage. Customers can easily compare sale prices and evaluate which deals are the most profitable.
Businesses can also obtain digital discount permits via the ministry’s electronic portal without any overlaps with their annual discount allowances, allowing for more competitive deals. The annual allocation of permitted discount days for retail stores won’t be affected.
