Some focus on local fashion and jewellery, while others are better for vintage clothing, handmade crafts, or products from small Saudi businesses.
Most take place during the cooler months or around Ramadan, although new markets continue to appear at different points throughout the year. Dates can change between editions, so checking the organiser’s latest announcement before visiting is essential. These are the pop-up markets in Riyadh to keep on your radar.
KAFD Saturday Market
KAFD Saturday Market is one of the newest additions to Riyadh’s pop-up scene. Its first season arrived in spring 2026, taking over part of Alwadi at King Abdullah Financial District every Saturday afternoon and evening.
The market brought together local businesses selling fashion, art, and lifestyle products, with speciality coffee and food giving people plenty of reason to stay after they had finished browsing. It was held in partnership with Monsha’at, Saudi Arabia’s Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority, so the focus remained firmly on home-grown businesses and entrepreneurs.
KAFD is already easy to spend time in, particularly once the heat begins to ease later in the day. The market fitted naturally into that atmosphere. Visitors could pick up a coffee, walk between the stalls and then carry on to one of the district’s restaurants rather than treating the market as a separate outing.
The first run ended at the end of May 2026, and the next dates had not been announced at the time of writing. However, its location and weekly format made it one of the city’s most promising new markets, so it is a name to look out for when Riyadh’s outdoor season begins again.
Saudi Thrift
Saudi Thrift offers something that is still relatively unusual in Riyadh: a market built almost entirely around vintage and second-hand finds. Created by Bodi Community, the pop-up began with just six stalls at a concept store in 2024.
It has since grown into a recurring series, reaching its tenth edition in June 2026. Rather than returning to the same venue each time, the organisers regularly change the location and theme, which means no two editions feel exactly alike.
Sellers bring everything from pre-owned clothing and accessories to vintage cameras, collectables, and pieces that are difficult to find in conventional shops. Some visitors arrive knowing exactly what they are searching for, while others spend most of their time going through rails and tables to see what turns up.
It is not the place to expect rows of identical products or perfectly coordinated displays. The fun comes from looking properly, speaking to sellers and occasionally finding something that nobody else in the room has noticed yet.
Saudi Thrift’s changing locations can make it easier to miss than Riyadh’s larger markets, so following the organiser directly is the best way to hear about the next edition.
Cactus District
Cactus District is the market to watch if you are more interested in fashion, jewellery and independent design than traditional craft stalls. Founded by Saudi entrepreneur Zainab AlEbrahim, the pop-up brings together a curated mix of Saudi, regional, and international brands for short shopping events in Riyadh. Previous editions have appeared at venues including Mansard Riyadh and VIA Riyadh, with the market usually running for only two or three days at a time.
The selection changes between editions but often includes abayas, ready-to-wear fashion, handbags, jewellery, beauty products, and accessories. Many of the businesses do not have permanent shops in Riyadh, so the pop-up gives shoppers a chance to see products in person rather than ordering them online without knowing quite what will arrive.
Cactus District is noticeably more polished than a typical weekend market. The stalls are carefully selected, the venues tend to be upmarket, and the focus is on discovering designers rather than finding inexpensive bargains.
It is the kind of pop-up people visit with a particular event, outfit, or gift in mind, although it is equally easy to leave with something that was never part of the original plan.
Riyadh Basta
Riyadh Basta is one of the city’s longest-running seasonal market initiatives. Organised by Riyadh Municipality, it has been held for several years as a way for entrepreneurs, small businesses, and productive families to sell directly to the public.
The 2025 winter edition spread across several neighbourhoods, with markets appearing on Tahlia Street, in Al-Narjis, and at parks in Al-Shuhada and Al-Dawh. The Tahlia Street market returned every Saturday for 12 weeks, turning one of Riyadh’s busiest roads into a temporary open-air shopping destination.
The stalls vary widely. Visitors may find clothing, accessories, perfumes, home products, and handmade items alongside street food and drinks. Children’s activities and roaming performances give families a reason to stay, but shopping remains a central part of the experience rather than an afterthought attached to a larger event.
Riyadh Basta feels less curated than Cactus District and much broader than Saudi Thrift. That is part of what makes it enjoyable. You may arrive intending to browse one section and find yourself stopping at stalls you would never have searched for online. As the market usually returns during Riyadh’s cooler months, late autumn is the best time to start looking out for the next dates.
JAX Ramadan Market
Riyadh has no shortage of Ramadan bazaars, but the JAX Ramadan Market has developed a clearer identity than most.
Held at JAX District in Diriyah, the market has returned across several Ramadan seasons. The latest edition ran for ten nights between late February and early March 2026, opening after iftar and continuing until the early hours of the morning.
Part of its appeal comes from the location. JAX already has galleries, studios, and converted industrial buildings, so the market feels connected to Riyadh’s creative community rather than placed inside a shopping centre for a few weeks.
The stalls usually combine food, fashion, accessories, beauty products, and gifts from local businesses. Workshops, open exhibitions, and cultural activities give visitors other things to explore, but the market itself remains easy to browse. Many people arrive after dinner, stop for coffee and spend the rest of the evening moving between the kiosks and surrounding art spaces.
It is busy, particularly later at night, but that energy suits it. JAX Ramadan Market is not designed for rushing through with a shopping list. It is somewhere to meet friends, look around, and see which businesses have joined that year.
How to Find the Next Pop-Up Market in Riyadh
There is no single calendar covering every pop-up market in Riyadh. Many are announced through Instagram, sometimes only shortly before they open, and dates from previous editions should never be treated as confirmation of the next one.
Following the organisers is the most reliable approach. KAFD announces its own seasonal markets, while Saudi Thrift and Cactus District use their social media pages to reveal new dates, venues, and participating sellers. Riyadh Municipality shares updates about Riyadh Basta, and JAX District publishes its Ramadan programme through its official channels.
It also helps to follow the venues that regularly host smaller brands and creative businesses. Alwadi, JAX District, AlMashtal, and Riyadh’s larger hotels and concept spaces often announce short pop-ups that may only last a weekend.
The hardest part is usually hearing about them before they close. Once you know which names and venues to follow, finding the next one becomes much easier.
